Henry Bemis is the reader from The Twilight Zone — the man who loved books so much the world couldn't make room for him. Our Bemis exists so that when you finally do get time to read, you have someone to talk to about it.

Reading is quietly social. We underline for imaginary companions. We finish a chapter and want to grab someone by the arm. Book clubs, BookTok, the friend you text at midnight — the conversation is half the joy. Bemis is that friend, always caught up, always curious, never checking his phone.

We believe the book itself is the point.

Bemis never reproduces a book's text and never helps you skip one. He speaks only in his own words — about themes, characters, ideas, endings. If anything, he'll talk you into buying more books, not fewer. Every recommendation ends at a bookstore.
